The magic begins with the right wood. Choosing the right raw material is crucial, determining the quality of the final product. Depending on the project, it can be oak, beech, walnut, ash, or other species—each with its unique characteristics, colors, and properties. The wood is carefully selected for its structure, density, and natural grain, which give the furniture its character. True master craftsmen recognize the potential in every piece of wood, knowing that each log tells its own story.

Wood immediately after being cut contains a significant amount of moisture, which can lead to cracks and warping in later stages of production. Therefore, drying is a crucial step before delivery to the workshop. The wood is dried in special chambers or using traditional air drying methods until it reaches the appropriate moisture content (usually around 8-10%). This is the time during which the wood "breathes" and matures, preparing for further processing. Our wood arrives at our workshop already seasoned and dried from certified Polish sources.

Designing furniture is a complex process that combines creativity with precise planning and technical expertise. Each step is crucial to creating a functional, aesthetic, and durable product. Here's a step-by-step process:

Every piece of furniture begins with an idea, often inspired by current trends, user needs, or a specific interior style. At this stage, we analyze the room the piece will be used in (living room, office, kitchen, etc.), its intended function (table, chair, cabinet), and its dimensions and proportions. This is also the time when the designer can draw on various sources of inspiration – nature, design history, art, or contemporary technology. Various design variants can be developed at this stage, and then the one that best meets the brief can be selected. Considering the furniture's functionality and ease of use is also crucial in this phase. If we're designing a piece specifically for you, we involve you in the process from the very first contact!

Once the general shape of the furniture has been approved, it's time to develop a detailed technical design. From here, the designer begins dimensioning, creating precise technical drawings, and determining construction details. They determine the materials the furniture will be made of, the type of connections (e.g., dowels, screws, joints), and the woodworking techniques or other materials to be used. This phase also considers structural stability, material durability, and ergonomics to ensure the furniture is functional and safe to use.

Before a piece of furniture goes into production, a prototype is created. This is a physical version of the design, allowing us to assess how the individual elements work together in real life. The prototype allows us to make adjustments to the structure, form, and materials before the piece goes into mass production. This stage also verifies whether the furniture fulfills its functions and is comfortable to use.

Once all details and corrections are approved, the project moves on to the production phase.

 

Cutting, gluing and formatting – work on machines

The first process the material undergoes is cutting. Wood tends to change shape as it shrinks or expands, so when producing furniture, we glue it from smaller strips. Additionally, we glue tabletops in layers. Thanks to modern CNC machines, we are able to achieve consistent elements for our furniture. This is where the real magic begins – the pieces of wood become part of a larger image that will soon transform into a table, cabinet, or chair. The first shapes emerge from the machine – legs, tabletops, cabinet fronts – all in accordance with the design. We have our own machinery, allowing us to create custom designs tailored to our clients' needs.

Handcrafted and assembled – the soul of furniture

Although modern machinery speeds up work, hand-crafted woodworking still plays a crucial role. Artisans meticulously smooth surfaces, remove irregularities, shape details, and refine the smallest details. It is at this stage that the distinctive ornaments, millings, and elements that give furniture their individual character are created. The use of hand-crafted tools also allows for precise fitting of elements – joining wood using traditional methods such as mortises, tenons, and dowels ensures not only durability but also aesthetic appeal. After precise processing, the wooden elements are ready to be assembled. This is the moment when the furniture begins to take shape. This is often the most crucial stage, where all the previously prepared parts – legs, tops, drawers, shelves – are assembled into a single, functional whole. This process requires extreme precision to ensure each part fits perfectly and the overall stability is maintained.

Meticulous finishing

Before applying oil, the wood must be properly prepared – carefully sanded. This is an important step, as a smooth surface ensures even oil absorption. Any dust must be removed to avoid staining. The first coat of oil is applied thinly using a cloth, brush, or applicator. After applying the oil, remove any excess and leave the furniture to dry for several hours. The oil penetrates the wood, improving its structure and protecting it from moisture. For enhanced protection and aesthetics, apply two coats of oil. After applying the final coat of oil, the wood is polished with a soft cloth, giving it a subtle shine. At this stage, the furniture acquires a natural, warm appearance, highlighting the structure and grain of the wood.

Quality control – we check every detail

Before leaving the workshop, each piece of furniture undergoes a thorough quality inspection. This is where the stability, functionality, and aesthetics of the product are verified. Each element is inspected for any defects, imperfections, or unfinished details. Only after positive verification is the piece ready to be shipped to the customer.

Packing and transport – ready for a new life

Once the furniture has passed all stages of production, it is carefully packaged to ensure it reaches the customer intact. This finished product will soon arrive in your home, filled with warmth, natural beauty, and timeless functionality.
