Splot tables – sculptural form

Splot is a duo of tables created with the relationship between forms in mind. Two independent objects meet here at a single point, creating a composition based on balance, weight and the interpenetration of solids.
The first table has the form of a soft ‘mushroom’. The second resembles a massive weight with a clear, stable base. When put together, the shapes begin to work together. The mushroom partially enters the shape of the second table, interlocking with it and creating a characteristic, sculptural arrangement.
This meeting of two forms is the essence of the name Splot. Each table can function independently, but only together do they form a complete story. Once they are one object, once they are two independent elements that can be freely separated and rearranged in space.
Splot tables are made entirely of solid wood. Their massive construction makes them clearly perceptible in the space. The weight of the material gives them stability and emphasises the natural character of the solid.
Each piece retains the grain and individual character of the wood. As a result, the tables are not just a functional accessory, but a small form of utilitarian sculpture that changes the perception of the interior.
A set of two tables gives great freedom of arrangement. They can stand together to form one integrated object in which the forms intermingle and complement each other. Or they can be separated and function as two independent auxiliary tables with different heights and diameters.

The weave is designed to respond to the space and the needs of the user. Once it forms a compact composition next to the sofa, at other times it spreads out in two directions of the living room.

100% oak, glued from wide strips not joined at length, polished

Table top finish
Natural oils and waxes approved for food contact or for use in the manufacture of children’s toys (according to EN1186 – 11/14) or (EN 71-3). Hydrophobic coating – stain and water-repellent (requires periodic maintenance).

Solid wood, solid proportions and a balanced geometry give the Splot tables an original feel. Their form is simple, but at the same time very distinctive.

It is a design that does not try to dominate the space. Rather, it organises it. It adds weight, rhythm and natural balance to it.
